Snacks n Beer pt 1: Beer n such

Even though we didn't really intend for this to be a food blog, turns out it is. There's no fighting it. It's probably due to the fact we've been on diets for the past few months and we're falling happily off the wagon in a big way. Either way the food is like 50% of the reason we're here.

We've eaten at some classy places but this post, the first of two, is dedicated to the lower end of the culinary scale. Snacks and beer for life.

Part one: Getting your drank on.

This is a Kirin Beer - Nogodashi. It's like Y1080 for a 6-pack of tall boys. Good times.

Asahi variant. Not bad but doesn't beat the silver can.

I think this is a low-carb option of Asahi.
Lucky for me it's style-free as well - whatever that means.

OK, so this isn't beer, but sugar-free chu-hi is alright by us. Incidentally, on the sugar-free tip, diet drinks aren't that popular and Diet Coke is really rare here making hitting a 6-pack of anything just that much harder. This place is ruled by the vastly inferior Coke Zero and it's a dagger in my heart.

But then there's Yogurito - it's a yoghurt based spirit (this is the pre-mix btw). We first saw it in a bar in Osaka but were too scared to try it. It's actually pretty good - kind of like Yakult with bubbles and booze. Will probably try and have a shot of this at some stage. I wonder if the good bacteria helps or accentuates a hangover?

Next: Hiroshima on blast!
